 - Define leave types
 - Configure a leave policy
 - Sync public holidays
 - Add employees
 - Integrate Slack
 - Integrate Google Calendar

1) Set up your company
You can set up your company during sign-up. Existing customers can review or update details anytime in Settings → General.
- Company name: Enter your registered company name or the name you operate under.
 - Country: Sets your default company time zone and imports the correct public holidays for the default location. You can add holidays for other locations later.
 - Time zone: If your country spans multiple time zones, select the specific time zone for your company.
 - Defaults: Remaining fields help Wibby create a default location and department that follow your company policy. You can change these after setup.

2) Create departments
After verifying your email, you are taken to the dashboard.
Go to Settings → Departments. Wibby creates one default department for you.
- To rename it, open the ⋮ menu and select Edit.
 - Add more departments as needed to match your org structure.
 - See also: Managing multiple departments.

3) Add locations
Go to Settings → Locations to view and manage company locations.
- A default location is created based on the country you chose during sign-up.
 - Use the ⋮ → Edit menu to update the location name, country, and the leave policy assigned to that location.
 - You can manage multiple locations. Each location can use a different leave policy.

TIP
A default leave policy is automatically assigned to your default location. You can change this at any time.
See also: Managing multiple locations.
4) Define leave types
Go to Settings → Leave Types.
- Wibby provides an initial leave type so you can get started quickly.
 - Use the ⋮ → Edit menu to change its name or settings.
 - Create additional leave types to match your policy, such as Annual Leave, Sick Leave, or Unpaid Leave.

See also: Leave types.
5) Configure a leave policy
Go to Settings → Policies. Wibby creates a default leave policy and links it to your default location.
- Select the View icon to open policy details. You will see every leave type that exists in your account.
 - Select Edit next to a leave type to set its rules within this policy. Changes apply to that leave type only for this policy.
- Example: Sick Leave can allow 10 days in the Default Policy, and a different allowance in another policy.

 - Use Activate or Deactivate to control which leave types employees see for this policy. Deactivated types are hidden from users.
 - Create additional policies for other locations when rules differ.

See also: Managing multiple leave policies.
6) Sync public holidays
Public holidays are imported for all countries used by your locations.
- If a holiday is added or updated, select Sync Holidays to refresh your holiday calendars.

7) Add employees
When your settings are ready, go to People → Add Employee. Adding an employee has four steps:
a) Basic information
Enter the employee’s personal details.
b) Job information
Provide role and employment details.
- Start date: This can affect the employee’s leave balance if your policy includes pro-rating.
 - Approvers: An employee can have multiple approvers. Only managers or admins can be approvers and will appear in the list. All selected approvers receive the request. Any one approver can approve or reject a request.

c) Access
Choose the user’s permission level: Admin, Manager, or Employee.
See User permissions for a full breakdown of capabilities.
d) Schedule
Create the employee’s work schedule. Employees can edit their own schedules later if your permissions allow it.
Upon saving, the employee will get an invite email on the email address provided in Basic Information
TIP
You can contact us at support@wibby.co for bulk importing the employees.
8) Integrate Slack
Connect Slack so employees can request and approve leave where they already work.
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack.
 - Select Connect and follow the prompts to authorize Wibby.
 - Choose the workspace and confirm permissions.
 - Once connected, test by requesting a leave from Slack.

WARNING
You may need workspace admin rights to complete the authorization.
9) Integrate Google Calendar
Sync approved leave to calendars so teams have accurate visibility.
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Google Calendar.
 - Select Connect and complete the Google authorization flow.
 - Pick the calendars to sync with, then save.
 - Approvals will start appearing as calendar events based on your sync settings.
